Anniversary Happenings!

Our 1st anniversary was very chill and fun. We first exchanged gifts, we wanted to try our hands at the traditional wedding gifts. The 1st year is represented by paper. Yes that's right, paper. At first I was thinking what on earth could I get Chris involving paper other then a card?! I had an amazing idea and even ordered it and everything but it went on backorder for eternity. So I had only a few days to quickly figure out what to get! I ended up getting him this really cool looking bottle and wrote a long love message and rolled it up and put it in the bottle. "Message in a Bottle" anyone? Hehehe. Chris got me tickets to a band I like called Vedera who was going to play in SLC in October! It was fun following that tradition. Next year it will be cotton, so that will be better I think :) We then went to Murray to go to Cheesecake Factory for dinner...it was delish! I didn't take a lot of pics, but it was a great day! I love my husband!

One Year Ago Today...

Me and Chris were married!!!! I can't believe how one year went so quickly. I remember the day and how excited I was.

**You may wish to skip this part, I just thought it would be fun to recount that day.** I got up pretty early and went and got my hair done, then went back to my fam's hotel and got ready to go to the temple. I remember walking in and getting checked in and Chris poked me from behind and scared me haha! Our sealing went so quick, but I remember feeling so extremely happy and peaceful knowing I would be with Chris for all eternity. After I got changed in my wedding dress we took a BILLION pics. They were watering the grounds that morning so that made my shoes puncture the ground and get the bottom of dress so dirty. We then took pictures in the pretty red bluffs of St. George. My mom carried the back of my dress as we hiked up the small mountain and I was in flip flops! Oh what we do for pics. Chris carried my flowers and other shoes. By that time everyone was on their way back to Vegas for the reception. Me and Chris changed and had lunch and were the last to arrive at home. Chris dropped me off at my house and everything was crazy! My mom and sisters hurried home to set up everything for the reception. They had to come home and change and get me! We rushed back to reception and I got changed. We then took more pictures before the guests arrived and had fun driving the golf cart to get around the golf course for more pictures! Phew! Our reception went by so quick. My dad sadly had a diabetes emergency and had to go home, I was so sad but he looked and felt terrible. We talked to everyone and finally got to sit and enjoy the party! The food and cake were yummy and me and Chris danced our first dance. I loved our reception, I just wished it lasted longer! My mom really did an amazing job and was busy the whole time directing people where to go and helping everyone. She added so many extra touches in the banquet hall to match our colors. From the arrangements on the tables, to the pictures of us everywhere, to the thank you table and favors, and sign in table, she really deserves a shout-out! I just wish I saw her more! In the end it was an amazing day full and friends and family. We were so blessed that day and appreciate everyone who came/helped!!! Here's to many more years to come :)

Sickness and Missing the Husband

So this picture describes how I am feeling....if I was man and if I wore suits. This weekend was Chris's show in Reno. Now I wanted to see him play. Of course I did. But this show was different because I couldn't just go home after they played like I normally do because they were in another state! I wanted Chris to have the best time and not worry about me. Plus I needed to teach our Sunbeams. So when they left on Friday I was pretty bummed. But after I got home from school I noticed my throat was really sore. "Oh no!" I thought, "I can't be sick!" But it turns out....I totally was!

That night sucked. I took a bunch of medicine and crashed on the couch. Saturday was the same. I was very happy I didn't go to Reno because it would have been awful! Today I can't hear out of my left ear, and my left nostril is soooo stuffy! Luckily the sunbeams weren't to frisky and the day went quick. Now I am just waiting for Chris to get home :)

I am super excited for this weekend because it is me and Chris's one year anniversary! I cannot believe we have almost been married a whole year. Time really does fly by!

First Blog!

Hello blog world! So, with the loving nudging of my fabulous husband, and my own want to have to have a blog, welcome to the Cooper's blog! I really have been wanting to make one for me and Chris, and now that we have been married for almost a year, we thought it would be a fun way to document our coming years/experiences/feelings/whatever from now on.

To update what has been going on as of late: I am finishing school at Utah Valley University, I am so excited this will be my last year! I am majoring in Community Health Education. I just finished my first week at my new internship at the United Way, and am very excited to work on Welcome Baby, and Help Me Grow programs. Chris is attending his last year at Brigham Young University majoring in Biology. He completed the DAT and has applied to dental school, so now we are just waiting on pins and needles to see the outcome of where we will go next fall! I am so proud of him <3.

At church we got what I like to call our first "grown-up" calling as Sunbeam teachers! We really love it (most of the time) especially because they split our huge class of 12 children in half :) It is so fun to teach them basic gospel principals and see how they think. I have to say though, the little girls are my favorite, they are so cute! I also really love seeing Chris in action with little 3/4 year-olds, it's pretty tender!

Chris has been playing bass for while in a band called Burning Olympus. They are so good! (And I'm not just saying that because I'm married to one of them!) Check them out on Facebook or Myspace. They play shows in Provo and SLC but later this month they are playing a show in Reno for a Diabetes benefit concert. And guess who they get to play with? The Ataris!!! An actual famous band!

Phew! Well that was quite a long first post, hopefully soon I will get the hang of this blogging thing and add cute things on here soon!
